The effects if war continue to ripple through the lives of many children. For Mary, six years old, and Thomas David, four years old, it has meant loosing their mother due to violence in their area and their father, like many other men in his situation has turned to alcohol and has abandoned them. While their grandmother, Abuk Taraza, is trying her best to care for them, she is older, a widow and unable to work much due to poor health. Because of this Mary and Thomas often go without meals and have never attended school.

Jacob's Cry has a young but vibrant, generous and big hearted contact in this area that desires to provide a new home for this grandmother and these precious children. She works hard already to provide for her own two young babies and will need support to be able to feed, clothe, and provide health care and the education needed for their long term growth and care.
