A small family serving a BIG God!

At the heart of Jacob's Cry in Pakistan is a remarkable family fully committed to serving the Lord and transforming lives with the love of Jesus Christ. Led by Saleem Akhtar and Elizabeth Saleem, and joined by their sons Amrat Narvan (and his wife Hina Amrat and daughter Miras Amrat), Augustine Saleem, and Abraham Saleem, this dedicated family team works tirelessly on the ground to bring hope, freedom, and the Gospel to some of the most vulnerable communities in Pakistan.

Their Story: Faith Through Trials and Miracles

Gods faithfulness has been powerfully evident throughout their journey. Saleem Akhtar the father of the family was once diagnosed with Hepatitis C. Through fervent prayer fasting and unwavering faith in Gods mercy he received complete healing. This miracle stands as a powerful testimony of what God can do.

Equally miraculous is the story of Elizabeth Saleem. After eighteen long years of marriage without children God blessed her with sons. What seemed impossible became a beautiful reality through Gods perfect timing. These miracles strengthened the familys faith and ignited a burning passion to serve Christ.

It all began with a deep burden to share the message and hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As they started ministering they discovered many people in Pakistan were hungry for the Word of God but could not read. In response Jacob's Cry began providing Audio Bibles so that even those who cannot read could listen to the Scriptures and grow in their faith.

From there the family encountered families trapped in slavery at brick kilns. With compassion and boldness they started setting these families free. Before freeing each family the team travels for hours to meet them conducts personal interviews to learn their stories lines up new jobs outside the kilns provides monthly food packages and secures safe housing. This comprehensive support ensures every family can truly start a new life.

While working among these communities the family noticed that many had no access to clean water and were drinking the same dirty water used for making bricks. In response they have identified strategic locations in villages to dig water wells and install hand pumps providing free clean drinking water for entire communities.

The family also hosts Sunday School to teach and nurture children in the faith. They organize family worship nights and warmly welcome the newly freed families into their own home for times of worship testimony sharing and fellowship. Their home has truly become a house of refuge and joy.

This family is truly incredible. Their hands on love courage and faithfulness continue to expand the work of Jacob's Cry in powerful ways.
